By the Numbers – A Few Beauty Facts to Ponder October 4, 2010

I thought it might be fun, enlightening, and interesting to share a few random skincare, beauty, and health facts.  So here goes:

  • 67% of women think they look younger than their age
  • Only about 10% of women truly love their skin
  • 74% of people with the highest rating for attractiveness were mixed race people
  • Coffee is the number one source of antioxidants in the American diet
  • 26% of teenagers, in 2001, believed that tanning was one of the best ways they could cure their acne
  • 8% of pediatricians, in a 2010 study, believed the myth that eating chocolate leads to acne
  • More women are turned off from tanning by being told it ages them than by it could kill them
  • There are no laws in the US that govern UV protection ratings on sunglasses
  • Americans have only an average of 30 foods in their diets
